Nature Valley Grand Prix June 20, 2007
St. Paul, Minn. ? Even a mid-race crash couldn?t stop Toyota-United?s Ivan Stevic from winning the opening stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix Wednesday night.
The Serbian National Champion went over the handlebars and hard to the pavement when two riders crashed in front of him halfway through the 60-minute Stage 1 criterium.
But Stevic took his free lap and regained the field as the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team lined up on the front for the final time around the six-tenths-of-a-mile course. Following the wheels of Caleb Manion, Sean Sullivan and Henk Vogels, Stevic easily scored his fourth win of the year and the 25th overall for the team this season.
